Moving in to town

, , david, Sunday, 7:03 pm

I’ve given notice to my landlord I’m going to be moving out of my current flat.  Had lunch with the family today and was telling them how I think I’d like to buy an apartment, but wanted to try apartment living out first. Serendipitously Heather’s apartment is going to be free next week, so we’ve agreed I’ll take the lease on.  It’s a small furnished bedsit, but I think that’ll be fine.  It’ll be easier to keep tidy.  Heather has offered to store all my stuff in her garage, there’s not going to be room for it in the apartment.  I haven’t actually seen the apartment, but I understand it is handy to my work, bars, restaurants and the library.  If things go well I’ll start looking for a bigger apartment to buy. If not I’ll be looking to buy a house/unit, or else for a new place to rent.

Will Oliver be becoming an indoor cat then?

Apartment living is cool, no more traffic woes, and everything is within walking distance. Even our cheaply-built concrete block unit right by spaghetti junction was good fun, although we did get some interesting neighbours.

Yep, Oliver is already an inside cat. Even before his hyperglycemic collapse he wasn’t going out much, now he doesn’t even get downstairs. Will be an experiment to see how he finds apartment life too.
