Found my phone

, david, Sunday, 5:00 pm

My phone has reappeared out of the twilight zone down beside the seat of my car. That was one of the places I looked before, but didn’t find it. This time I had the car out of the garage and was actually able to see what I was grabbing at, and out came my phone! Feel free to text or call me again!

Have lost my cash flow card now. I’ve cancelled it, and will have to order a new one from the bank. It’s about time someone made my smart mega wallet idea.

Looking to buy an inner city apartment

, , , , david, Saturday, 9:19 am
p1000109

Having tried living in one, I’ve decided living in an inner city apartment would suit me for the next four years or so. So now I’m looking to buy. Some of the things that I like are being handy to everything, being able to walk to work, being able to go on holiday and just leave the apartment and knowing it is secure, no gardens or lawns. The biggest drawback (after not being able to have a cat) is the noise from the street, but it’s not too bad, especially if you’re up high. I’ve heard the noise from neighbours can be very bad, though it isn’t a problem in my current apartment it is something I’m trying to avoid too.

There’s an apartment on Liverpool St near work which 90% matches my criteria, but I’m interested in looking around other places. I’ve contacted Kiwibank to arrange finding out about getting a mortgage.

    What I’m looking for:

  • separate bedroom (or 2, but doesn’t have to be 2)
  • up high, 10th floor or higher
  • quiet
  • carpark (with locker would be good)
  • inner city (<10mins walk to work @ the top of Queen St)
  • tidy
  • secure
  • to live in – liveable

If you know of any inner-city apartments for sale, or you have experiences in living in them please add a comment.

Of course if I don’t buy I can just keep renting.

I remember the great excitement of buying a 1 GB disk drive. People asking “how will you ever use all that space?”. Now we’re using 1 TB disk drives at work! (Haven’t got one in my machine yet, but soon I hope.)

Did a exciting tramp around Lake Wainamu and back down the Wainamu Stream. Michelle has a more interesting post on her blog.

Somewhere on Saturday I lost my phone, so if you want to contact me you’ll have to use email, or you can try my landline (number is in the white pages). It must be somewhere between my apartment, my car, Eden Terrace and the Waitaks, but I haven’t found it yet.

Finished the day with a surprise birthday party for my sister who was over in Switzerland on her actual birthday.

Best little pizza place in Auckland

, , david, Tuesday, 8:16 pm

Fantastic Pizza Place Caught up with friends at Galbraiths for before heading over to the best pizza in Auckland at Monicas.

Monicas is at 155 on Symonds Street, CBD, phone 368 4295.

Italiano is my favourite topping. The Greek salad is also great. They used to have a “choose your own toppings”, but that seems to have gone now. Still they’re very friendly so you can always try asking if you want the Simon special: bacon, bacon, bacon, ham and bacon.
