I’m brewing a new batch of beer – Black Rock Lager. It has been very cold for the yeast, but I have the vat on a heating pad which I switch on at night. The air-lock has been bubbling away, so the yeast lives. Hopefully will be good in a couple of months time.

We came first in the pub quiz tonight, winning a $50 bar tab.

We came second in the pub quiz last night, winning a $30 bar tab. Only a few points behind the first-place-getters.

Italiano is my favourite topping. The Greek salad is also great. They used to have a “choose your own toppings”, but that seems to have gone now. Still they’re very friendly so you can always try asking if you want the Simon special: bacon, bacon, bacon, ham and bacon.

The beer which I brewed back in June is almost drinkable. It’s still a bit yeasty, but is definitely alcoholic.
