Documentation
Most backup programs will backup everything. Trax is good for doing a more fine-grained backup. Backing up just those files you absolutely can't afford to lose. E.g. No need to back up all the operating system files which can easily be reinstalled, but you'll want to save those configuration files which you've changed.
Features:
Very simple graphical interface
Backs up only what you really need
Stores standard bzip2 compressed tar files
Database of when backups were run and where they are stored
Schedule backups to run late at night
Archive backups to CDROM
Also has command line interface
Trax isn't a general purpose tar archive front-end. If you want one of those, check out File Roller.
This is a Beta release. BE VERY CAREFUL!!!
